Updated on 02/11/2013

The Pitch In Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information when you use any of Pitch In's services. Because we are using PayPal as a payment mechanism, users also agree to the PayPal Privacy Policy and PayPal Acceptable Use Policy.

Upon registration, you will be asked for your email address and a password. Pitch In will log your IP address for security reasons. Email will be used for account verification, recovery of lost passwords and as a way for Pitch In to get in touch with you regarding updates, features and policy changes. You can at any time opt out of messages from Pitch In from your account settings page, by removing the tick under "Notifications".

Widget Event Creation & Usage

As the creator of an event, you provide Pitch In with personal information in forms of your PayPal email address. This is required by our widget in order to direct contributors to the correct payment gateway.

As a contributor to an event, you provide Pitch In with personal information in forms of your PayPal email address (if applies), first and last name, country of origin, donation amount and personal message to the event creator. We do not log street address and/or zip codes.

Personal Information gathered by Pitch In

Pitch In gathers personal information about event creators and contributors as listed above. The information is gathered from PayPal when a contribution has been made. This information is used solely for the widget and statistics for the event creator. Pitch In does not at any time use this information for their own benefit or statistics in any way.

Contributions through Pitch In

Pitch In uses PayPal as an agent for collecting event contributions. This means that Pitch In shares information about your event with PayPal in forms of your PayPal email address and your Pitch In ID in order to make our widget communicate with PayPal. If you are unsure about how PayPal treats personal information, visit for more information.

Use of information

Pitch In does not use any of your personal information, whether you're an event creator, or an event contributor.

  • Pitch In does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
  • Pitch In does not log sensitive transaction details, such as credit card information.
  • Pitch In shares information about you according to this Privacy Policy, and in no other way.

Changes to Policies

When a change is made to this or any other policies, users who opt-in to get news from Pitch In, will receive an email about the changes. Pitch In will also update the timestamp at the top of this page, to reflect when the changes were made.
